Scientific objectives of the team are to dissect at the molecular, cellular, synaptic, and network levels, the neural bases of cognitive functions and behaviors in normal and pathological conditions. We cover neural functional changes associated with cognitive and behavioral alterations during neurodevelopment (Fragile X syndrome, Autism spectrum disorder) and neurodegeneration (Huntington’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease). Special emphasis is placed on multilevel analysis of social behaviors combining genetic, molecular, cellular, and biochemical approaches, as well as in vivo electrophysiological recordings in freely behaving or head-restrained mice.
Key words: cognition, social behavior, synaptic plasticity, information coding, neural synchrony, sleep physiology, GABA transmission, hippocampus, basal ganglia, behavioral neurogenetics, neural development, Fragile X syndrome, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease.
