"Energizing the brain after stroke" a TRAIL mini-symposium

Jérôme Badaut is cooganizer of this TRAIL minisymposium as a kickoff event for his collaborative projet on "The role of caveolin-1 in blood-brain barrier repair in stroke and traumatic brain injury: towards a general protective strategy for the neurovascular unit” with Professor Lorenz Hirt, neurologist at Lausanne University Hospital (Centre hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois). Together they were recently awarded a 430k€ grant from the SNF (Fond Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique Suisse).

Professor Lorenz Hirt is the leader of a research group studying cerebral ischemia and neuroprotective strategies at the University of Lausanne (UNIL). He is currently investigating the molecular mechanisms behind the neuroprotective effects of Lactate. He will give a talk entitled :"Non-invasive biomarkers in the ischemic mouse brain".

The mini-symposium will be held Monday, 7th November at the CGFB conference room.
