Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation at PAM!

INCIA’s Motion Analysis Platform has a new transcranial magnetic stimulator. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a cerebral stimulation technique allowing the study of functional connectivity, chronometry and the effects of a virtual lesion in humans. We have equipped ourselves with the most effective non-invasive technique, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). Short rTMS pulses induce a transient disruption of neuronal activity in the target region, producing intracortical inhibition or facilitation. This technique can also be used in combination with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) or electroencephalography (EEG) to probe the causal relationship between brain and behavior.

This 80k€ tool available within the INCIA Motion Analysis Platform has been financed thanks to the support of GIS IBISA, LABEX BRAIN, the Bordeaux Neurocampus department and the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
