Thurday, May 6, from 11h30 am to 12h00 am during a Zoom session.

The speaker will be:
Robin Piquet (PhD student, DECAD Team):
Ventral hippocampus supports flexible behaviour by learning about the environmental context.

Being able to select appropriate actions in a given environment is an important capacity for survival. Instrumental conditioning can be used to study the neurocognitive bases of action selection and it considerably improved our understanding of the psychological aspects and underlying neuronal substrates that support such behaviour. Yet, to date the influence of the environmental context on action selection remains poorly understood. Here, we use different behavioural paradigms to determine whether goal-directed behaviour relies on activity in the ventral hippocampus (vHPC), a structure well known for its role in the contextual regulation of other forms of associative learning.
